Chanterelle (cantharellus cibarius) are wild mushrooms. Chanterelle, like its cousin the Black trompette have a buttery smell - reminiscent of buttered popcorn. It is widely used in Europe especially during the holidays. Typically, domestic mushrooms (North American) are bigger than those from Europe.
