Timut pepper (Zanthoxylum armatum), related to the Szechuan peppercorn is unique in that it is not as hot or pungent like black peppercorn. It creates a tingly numbness (buzz) in the mouth and has a tangerine or grapefruit aftertaste. If you want more of a lemon flavor or aftertaste, look at the Szechuan Peppercorn
